FAQs
Q: What does BYPASS mode do?
A: BYPASS applies only to RCA OUT, bypassing the tube stage, Main Volume and tone controls. RCA OUT operates at full output level in BYPASS mode, so lower the source or downstream amplifier volume before switching to protect hearing and speakers.
Q: Can the 3.5mm and 4.4mm headphone outputs be used at the same time?
A: For the best listening experience, we recommend using only one headphone output at a time.
Q: Do the Main Volume and tone controls affect all outputs?
A: Yes. Main Volume and Treble / Bass / Super Bass affect all outputs. The dedicated Headphone Volume adjusts the headphone output only.
Q: Can I use a different power adapter?
A: We recommend the supplied DC 12V / ≥2A adapter. If using another adapter, make sure it is a high-quality DC 12V model rated at 2A or higher. Excessive voltage may damage the P1 MAX, while insufficient current may affect normal operation.
Q: Why does P1 MAX use only one ECC83 tube for stereo?
A: ECC83 is a dual-triode tube containing two independent triode sections. P1 MAX uses one section for each channel, allowing a single ECC83 to handle both left and right channels through the tube stage.
Q: Can the ECC83 tube be replaced?
A: Yes. P1 MAX supports compatible tube rolling, including 12AX7, 7025, 6N4 and 5751. Always power the unit off before replacing the tube, and contact us first if you are unsure about compatibility.
Q: Can the op-amp be replaced?
A: Yes, the P1-MAX uses one pluggable NE5532 op-amp, which can be replaced with compatible dual op-amps such as OPA2604, OPA2134, MUSES01, MUSES02 etc.
